About Nordic Ski Adventures - Pete Holmes

Pete Holmes is the owner and your guide for our trips to the Dolomites and the Italian Alps. I have been guiding and instructing cross country and back country skiing for over 30 years. I have skied all over the world, including the Himalayas, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Canada, and of course Italy, USA and Australia.

As a ski guide I have led trips for a wide range of clients, including family and friendship groups looking for a ski holiday with a difference, to school and tertiary students on extended cross country ski trips.  As a lecturer in the Outdoor Education degree program at Latrobe University, I have taught leadership, facilitation skills, education theory and  how to manage groups safely in adventure activities.

From 2018-2024 I have been instructing at Falls Creek Cross Country Ski School, Victoria Australia.  I hold an International Ski Instructor (ISIA) certification, and I am a level 4 nordic and a telemark ski  instructor with the Australian Professional Snowsport Instructor Association. 

In 2024 I am continuing to instruct and guide cross country/ back country skiing at Falls Creek and free lance rockclimbing guide at Mount Arapiles, Victoira.

As a dual citizen of both the USA and Australia, I have offices in California and Australia. Being in this position enables Nordic Ski Adventures to service our guests across both continents, as customers are only a phone call away from myself or the American office.
