Italy Ski Holiday: 15 Day Dolomites to Alps
This fully guided Italy ski holiday: 15 day Dolomites to Alps Adventure, showcases the entire breadth of Northern Italy; skiing from the Dolomites to the Italian Alps in the west.
Your Italian Ski Holiday starts in Milan. We drive north to the village of Livigno, tucked under the Swiss Alps. Snow abounds here, as it is known locally as “Little Tibet”. Next, we head east stopping in Switzerland for a quick ski and then to the heart of the Dolomites, staying in Dobbiaco/Val Casies. With over 1200km of trails to explore, we visit the quaint villages of Sesto & Moso.
Then it is off to Seiser Alm and St. Christina. Our last stop is in Cogne. Situated in the north west of Italy, we ski at Cogne and Courmayeur under Mont Blanc. You will experience both the Germanic and French influenced cuisines and cultures as we ski the very best of both the Dolomites to the Alps. All accommodation, transfers, on ground transport, skiing costs and most meals are included in the package. Click here for more details.
As in all our trips, we can mix and match the venues, the mix of downhill and cross country skiing and length of trip. Happy to discuss possibilities, so please contact me. Please see below for an exemplar itinerary.

Please see an exemplar itinerary below. Press on each day/ski symbol to get a detailed look into the itinerary. Every effort has been made to represent the trip accurately. However, environmental conditions, snow, or lack of snow, road and hotel closures may impact the trip. Any changes to the itinerary will be communicated as soon as details come to hand. A Google map representation of the itinerary and venues we will be skiing is found below.
Buongiorno! Check into our hotel, a five minute walk from Milan Train Station. Meet up with the other guests and myself for a wonderful and authentic dinner at a local ristorante. A pre dinner drink and dinner is included in the itinerary. A brief about tomorrow and the trip ahead occurs over dinner and drinks.
After breakfast we drive to the beautiful northern village of Livigno. On route we drop into a small cross country resort for a lunchtime ski and to find our ski legs again. We spend the three nights in Livigno, skiing the available 33 kms of trails right up against the Swiss border. Livigno has a great vibe, with great restaurants to try out and excellent duty free shopping.
Today we continue to ski the trails near the village of Livigno and up the valley towards Switzerland. Spend the afternoon/evening walking the picturesque laneways of Livigno.
Another great ski up or down the valley. For those that are keen there is a great ski up towards the pass. The best part is that it’s all downhill back to the hotel at 1816m above sea level. Why not try the local beer, made in the valley called simply 1816.
Enroute will see us travelling through Switzerland, where we will be stopping off for lunch and a ski in Val Mustair. After a delicious bowl of homemade soup, we head back into Italy. Your hotel is conveniently located for a sneaky ski out if you are keen and you cannot wait to get out on the white stuff. Alternately soak up the atmosphere of San Martino as you stroll around the town and check out the fascinating cemetery behind the church.
A possible ski south towards Lake Landro, and Cortina d’ Ampezzo, with lunch stops along the way at several ristorantes, with views of Tre Zinnen.
We have a couple of options today. Perhaps a snow ski at 2000m on the high plateau of Prato Piazzo.
We drive to Val Gardena/Santa Christina today, with options of a 10-16 km ski with a gentle descent along the valley floor of Val Casies down to the village of Welsberg. I meet you there with your luggage and we continue onto Santa Christina/Val Gardena.
Our hotel is ideally situated to access all three cross country ski trails and Col Raiser the local downhill ski resort with links to the Sellaronda. Our options today include Vallunga or Monte Pana. Guests have voted that the very best of Apple Strudel can be found on the trail at Vallunga. Perhaps you have to try it for yourself. Made locally by a family of Ladin descent.
Today we ski on many see as one of the highlights of the trip. We ski on Alpe di Siusi, a high plateau of 1800m, giving you amazing views and excellent quality of snow and trails.
We transfer across northern Italy to the beautiful village of Cogne in the Italian Alps. Our hotel is situated just 50m from the village ski tracks. So, either a pleasant walk around this stunning village of cobblestone streets and laneways waiting to be discovered, or a quick ski to burn off some energy.
Lots of options today as we ski towards Valnontey and further into the Gran Paradiso National Park. For those that are feeling fit there is an extra 5 km (3 mile) loop following the Valnontey River upstream.
A drive up the Val di’ Aosta to Courmayeur. An amazing ski into the Italian Alps, were one gets up close to the mountain of Mount Bianco (Mont Blanc) as we ski towards a rifugio for lunch at the head of the valley.
A drive up the Aosta Valley to ski at St Barthelemy. With over 40kms of trails to ski. The views over Aosta Valley are magnificent as you ski under the Swiss Alps. It the option of an overnight ski trip is taken; our accommodation tonight is in the rifugio Magia at the head of the valley. Please see the information below regarding the optional ski tour into the rifugio, at St Barthelemy, along the 10km of groomed trails.
Time for an morning ski at Saint Barthelemy or Cogne. Then it’s off to Milan, where I drop you at the Central Railway Station and we say arrivederci. Grazie mille.

Nordic Ski Adventures put on the holiday of a lifetime. What a great ski holiday Nordic Ski Adventures put on for us. We turned up in Milan and Pete took care of the rest of the trip, travel, hotels, ski hire, lift tickets and even some of the evening meals. The two lodges we stayed in were just fabulous. I am so glad you took the time to find them for us. The ski days were catered to our level of expertise while pushing us to work hard and improve our skiing. Pete had a great knowledge of the resorts which made the trip even better. So thanks again Pete and I would not hesitate recommend Nordic Ski Adventures to anybody looking for great downhill skiing holiday. Add in fabulous scenery, all while immersed in the Italian culture and history. Thanks Pete. MalachyPosted on Tripadvisor![]()

Amazing Nth Italy Ski trip with Nordic Ski Adventure I joined a group ski holiday in northern Italy, and loved every minute of it! The snow, trails, scenery and weather was amazing! Equally enjoyable was the fact that all of the research, planning and booking was done for me! The best ski locations, accommodation options, transport to a variety of locations - it was all provided. Pete, our guide was very knowledgeable about every aspect of our trip and offered lots of helpful advice. The skiing was like nothing I have experienced in Australia, and so it was great to have a whole new learning experience. I would totally recommend this trip, or any other customized trip, to anyone who loves to ski and experience life!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

He was able to provide advice on the best trails to ski for the varying skiing abilities within the group, the time available, the individuals choice of skis - skate or classic, rest stops along the way (ideal spots for lunch or a hot drink), public bus options for reaching new ski trails or ski out/bus back options and whether you wanted a big day of skiing or a more restful sight seeing day.I highly recommend Nordic Ski Adventures for a skiing holiday in the Dolomites.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Cross Country Skiers Dream Holiday I cannot recommend Nordic Ski Adventures highly enough! With a busy lifestyle it was a relief to be able to schedule a holiday and leave the logistics to Peter. Once we landed in Italy we didn’t have to worry about transport, finding the best ski trails or restaurants as Peter had this all under control as well as tips about where to eat and shop, leaving us more time to enjoy the magnificent skiing. We took the 12 day itinerary which was an excellent way to sample numerous resorts and terrain. Peter was always on top of the conditions and was flexible enough to offer alternatives if the intended resort didn’t have perfect conditions. With a diverse range of skiers in our group we didn’t always ski together and Peter always made sure that everyone had the information they needed to have a great day.Cross country skiing in Italy was incredible! No day was the same, every day we skied different trails with breathtaking scenery.Just do it - you won’t be disappointed!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
