7 day Cogne Ski Holiday
With our seven day Cogne Ski Holiday you will find yourself staying in the heart of historic Cogne, with it’s cobble stone streets, and staying in the most romantic of hotel. On day six we do a short transfer to Saint Barthelemy a very small village nestled into the alps at 1900m, where it is ideally suited to access the nearby ski trails. Both hotels are situated in the Valle di Aosta, in the Italian Alps, and I believe you will have a ski holiday like no other. Just imagine coming in after a day of skiing and then slipping into the spa to rejuvenate. Both hotels enable direct access to 25 miles of nordic ski trails in the valley. The breadth and depth of the variety of restaurants in Cogne, with it mix of French and Italian cuisines, is simply breath taking.
What’s covered in this trip?
Six nights of +3 star accommodation, all taxes, all breakfasts, four dinners, transport in private minibus from Milan and return, ski trail passes, ski instruction and guiding. See detailed itinerary below. If you prefer to spend your down time in the very best accommodation in Cogne, then this can certainly be arranged. Alternately if you want to spend more money on skiing and less on accommodation, please contact me for a quote on either of these two options.

I greet you early at Milan Central Station and drive north west to Cogne situated in the Aosta Valley. After we settle into our hotel, there will be time to take a walk around this picture book town, or we can go for a quick ski on the village meadow. Our hotel is conveniently placed to the ski trails.
Today we find our ski legs and focus on developing our ski technique. Skiing on and around the Village meadow is the likely terrain of choice for today.
We ski out to Valnontey today. A delightful village situated on the Valnontey River, where numerous options abound of various ski trails to explore.
A stunning ski up to the very quaint village of Lillaz. Options abound for skiing, snow walks to frozen waterfalls and amazing food, accompanied by views of the mountains.
A short drive west towards France, where we ski above Courmayeur, in the small town of Entreves. Absolutely incredible views of the Italian Alps as they tower above us as we ski to a rifugio for lunch.
A drive across the Valle di Aosta to our new lodging at Saint Barthelemyy at 1900m above sea level nestled up in the alps over looking Valle di Aosta. After checking in, we head out for a ski at this local ski resort. There is the option of a 10 km ski into the rifugio/cafe, with stunning alpine views along the way. Lunch is available at the rifugio, though not included in the package.
There is time for a quick and last ski after breakfast, before we head off to Milan. I drop you off at the Centrale Railway Station of Milano, where we say arrivederci, and your next adventure awaits you. Grazie mille and ciao.
An Optional Extra - at no extra cost!
Hut to Hut overnight ski trip – a highlight of all our Valle di Aosta visits
Saint Barthelemy: As an alternative to staying in the village of St Barthellemy, there is an option to ski in 10 kms to a beautiful 2-star B&B rifugio (dinner and breakfast included) and stay overnight, nestled into the Italian Alps at 2000m. All the trails are groomed, and you can either classic or skate with just a light day pack. This option is available on Days 6 and 7, or another day can be possibly added to the package. If this option is of interest, please contact me.

Posted on David Weightman19 March 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Peter was an exceptional cross country skiing teacher. He was very patient with novices, knew their strengths, limitations, and ability and taught really well accordingly. He would explain instructions one step at a time and made it easy to understand. He was always happy to clarify more if needed. Peter was super supportive of me and others when working was us. Whenever we would achieve something or make an improvement, regardless of how big, he would congratulate us. This was very motivating and really made us want to keep trying and further improve our ability. He really had time for each and every one of us. He was always interested in and asked us about our lives in general which was the icing on the cake of our time working under Peter. I highly recommend Peter and hope our paths cross again soon, especially in cross country skiing. Thank you Peter!!! From DavidPosted on Cassidy Davies6 March 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Pete was very patient and accomodating with my varied skiing ability and skills. We loved our experience!Posted on marietta bylhouwer2 March 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot recommend Nordic Ski Adventures highly enough. We were a small group of 6 XC skiers, most of whom had never met, with varying levels of expertise (from beginners to advanced), aged from 40 to early 70. Pete, an expert XC skier himself, managed to provide bespoke skiing experience to us all, including some ski lessons. The entire trip was excellent and super-well organised. Pete provided us all with a wonderful holiday, great skiing locations, excellent accommodation, food, and all kinds of assistance, including some walking routes when a shoulder injury stopped me from skiing for a few days. Pete is very knowledgeable, and knows his way around this part of the world. Going on one of these trips is a wonderful opportunity to ski to your hearts' content, ski in the company of others or alone (whatever suits) in another and absolutely gorgeous country, without the stress of having to do all the hard work of organising this yourself. The trip was so good, that I am going back for another dose!!!! Thank you so much Pete, I had the best time, (apart from my shoulder injury, which even you, could not have prevented!!). MariettaPosted on Paul Fredheim27 February 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nordic Ski Adventures is the "go to" destination for English speakers wanting a guided XC experience in the beautiful Italian Alps where all the pesky details like travel, trail passes, hotels and eating options are taken care of. Recommended!!Posted on Roland Baltutis23 February 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Well run and adapted to suit all abilities. The constant changing of skiing locations kept the wow factor going and I would recommend this company to everyone.Posted on Steven smith23 February 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was not sure how the trip would go but it was the best skiing experience I had. I have been skiing for over 33 years and what Peter offered me was a trip of a lifetime. I would do it again anytime. Thanks PetePosted on Jimmy17 February 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This trip was superb, taking in Italy's most iconic Nordic ski destinations including Livigno and the Dolomites. It ran very smoothly with Peter providing exceptional guiding and support Definitely a must do for skinny ski enthusiasts.Posted on Tonya & John Hackett14 February 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son & I had a great time on the 15-day Italy XC ski trip Jan-Feb 2025. Peter Holmes provided opportunities to ski in varied terrain, always with beautiful scenery. Each evening he clearly outlined the next day's plans. When we were on the trails, he gave us excellent technique advice, leading to great improvements in our skiing performance. We chose to do a day's downhill skiiing at each of Livigno & Val Gardena, which was also excellent. Socially the trip was fun, the accommodation was perfect, and the meals were always tasty.Posted on Millicent Gunner31 January 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nordic Ski Adventures did an incredible job at guiding us through an unforgettable ski tour and showcasing what the Italian Alps have to offer. The trip was full of fun, comfortable accomodation, delicious food and a variety of undulating cross country ski trails. Would highly recommend!
