Explore the breath taking snowscapes of Austria and Italy with our Austria-Dolomites ski holiday package. During your trip our experienced ski guide will show you the very best of local cuisine, cafes and of cross-country ski venues in both countries.
Our 16 day ski package of Austria-Dolomites starts from the romantic island of Venice where we head north into Austria, staying in Hopfgarten and skiing places like St Jakobs and Obertillach. After three days exploring the trails of Austria and tasting the best apple strudels, we head back into Italy where our accommodation is located conveniently in San Martino with ski trails out the door. The next hotel is placed remotely on Alpe di Luson with access only by over snow transport. There is 30 kms of ski trails to explore here straight out of the door of our hotel. Then we head into the heart of the Dolomites, where we have the opportunity to ski both the plateau of Alpe di Siusi and the beautiful valley of Vallunga. Our last stop is the Passo delle Erbe, tucked under the Sass de Putia. The view from our hotel will delight any traveller being situated above 2000m . Additionally and more importantly for some, the snow cover is exceptional due to it’s high elevation. See the itinerary below for more details.

16 Day Austria-Italy Ski Holiday Itinerary

Buongiorno, after checking into Hotel Carlton in beautiful Venice, we catch up over dinner and you meet the other guests on the trip. An introduction about tomorrow and the trip ahead occurs over dinner in the most romantic of cities.
This morning we head directly north into the stunning Austrian Alps. On route we will sample some great cross county skiing as we pop into one of the many cross country resorts in Italy, before arriving at our hotel in Austria.
Our hotel is conveniently located to access several nordic ski trails as part of the Dolomiti Nordic Super Pass. Today will see us heading up the valley to St Jakobs skiing this delightful valley at 1500m above sea level.
Depending on snow cover we have several options available to us, including a ski into Italy over the Passo di Stalle and a delightful apple strudel overlooking Lake Obersee at 1950m.
A short transfer to our hotel in Val Casies, with our last ski in Austria in Obertillach. A sensational day, and yes more apple strudel to try.
A short drive to Plato Piazza Platzwiese, a plateau situated at 2000m in the heart of the Dolomites. With it’s gentle undulating trails, they are a delight to ski on and the views from the mountain rifugio are stunning.
With a very short walk to the trails, we ski up the valley to Santa Maddalena and sample more coffee and apple strudel at the head of the valley.
After breakfast, you ski right down to the village of Welsberg/Monguelfo. I meet you there, and a short transfer later takes us to Alpe di Luson. A beautiful plateau at 1936m, with 30 kms of trails starting straight out the door of our hotel.

Today we transfer to Passo delle Erbe. The hotel is situated at 2000m, and be blown away with stunning views of Sass de Putia and more trails a to explore, on what seems your own private XC ski resort. Enroute we ski in the village of San Viglio, before heading up the mountain to our hotel.
Today will see you skiing down to lunch to our closest rifugio Gasthaus Halslhütte. In the afternoon, try the longest (marketing hyperbole here) toboggan ride in the world, 3 km on a groomed trail, on real wooden classic euro-style sleds and free shuttle return provided.
As we transfer to Santa Christina, we drop in for a lunch time ski at Alta Badia. After lunch a short drive to our hotel over yet another beautiful alpine pass. In the evening settle in to the most magnificent of hotels bars, and enjoy Matteo’s hospitality.
Skiing the beautiful cross country trails on the amazing high plateau of Alpe di Suisi. The highest plateau in Europe is the ideal choice, with its diversity of trails (80 kms) and vistas.
Today we will explore some of the local trails, either at Vallunga or Monte Pana.
An early morning ski or a sleep in, before we depart for Milano Centrale, where we say arrivederci. Grazie

All prices are based on double/twin share rooms. Single supplements apply for all departures, ask for details.
Your package includes: 15 nights accommodation, VAT and city taxes for all accommodation, all transport/transfers Venice to Milan, all breakfasts, ten dinners, all ski passes, ski waxing service, and ski guide.

Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is mandatory for all guests travelling with us. You are strongly encouraged to take out this cover immediately upon paying your deposit. Your travel insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses, snow sports, emergency repatriation, cancellation, curtailment and loss of personal effects. You will be required to show proof of your travel insurance, including a Snowsports endorsement before joining the trip. Please see Booking terms and conditions for more details.

- The remaining cost of the ski holiday package will be payable 60 days before departure,
- Upon booking you will receive a detailed itinerary and a information booklet that will assist you to organise your ski holiday, and how to get to the start point from Marco Airport Venice. Why not take a very cool ferry or water taxi from the aeroport to your hotel situated on the Grand Canal in Venice .
