8 Day Livigno-Dolomite Ski Holiday

Guided ski trips to Italy Nordic Ski Adventures
Perfect cross country ski trails Italy

We begin our Livigno and Dolomite Ski Holiday by spending four days exploring the many kilometres of ski trails in and around the village of Livigno, situated up near the Swiss border.

Because of its geographic situation, at 1800m above sea level and tucked under the Swiss Alps, it regularly receives early snow, and the locals call Livigno “Little Tibet”. If there is one place that may provide reliable snow in Italy, then Livigno is it.

There is over 33 kilometres of cross country skiing to be had or there is the downhill ski slopes you can access from our hotel. You will also experience the culture, hospitality and cuisines of this part of Italy as we stay in small family run 3-4 star hotels. After a few days we transfer to the Dolomites, via Switzerland. Our base for the remainder of the trip is Siusi allo Sciliar and Seiser Alm, at 1800m. The picturesque plateau of Seiser Alm  is Europe’s largest plateau and provides the cross country skier with 80kms of exquisite skiing.

If downhill skiing is your preferred mode of skiing, then this is possible at both venues, at Livigno and Seiser Alm.  Lift tickets for downhill skiing are not included in your package.  See the exemplar itinerary detail for more details below.

As in all our trips, there is a possibility to mix and change the dates of departure, venues, accommodation, cross country/downhill skiing and length. Happy to discuss possibilities, so please contact me to discuss and individualize your ski trip.

Buongiorno, welcome to Italy. I meet you in Milan and a chance to get organized for our trip. Your hotel is conveniently located near Milan’s Centrale Railway Station. Over a welcoming Presco and dinner we have an opportunity to meet everyone and discuss the trip and day 2 departure.

We drive north to the beautiful village of Livigno or the plateau of Alpi di Luzon. On route we drop into a small XC resort for a lunchtime ski, before a short drive to our accommodation. Your hotel is conveniently located for a stroll and to soak up the atmosphere.

Finding our ski legs today on the local trails, as we begin our exploration of the local trails that are available. A leisurely ski down hill back to the hotel in the afternoon.

A short drive to Plato Piazza Platzwiese, a plateau situated at 2000m in the heart of the Dolomites. With it’s gentle undulating trails, they are a delight to ski on and the views from the mountain rifugio are stunning.

On route to Siusi allo Scillar depending on weather and snow conditions we hope to ski along the way in Dobbiaco or Alta Badia. Both options allow us to stretch our legs in some delightful settings.

Each day whilst we  at Siusi allor Scillar, we will be catching the gondola up to the high plateau of Seiser Alm at 1800m. Seiser Alm is Europes largest plateau and the XC skiing is fabulous. With over 80kms of trails, there is something for everyone. Some guests may wish to Alpine/telemark ski the alpine resorts on the plateau- (at your own expense).

We catch the Gondola up to the plateau of Seiser Alm to access the trails. With the trails at 1700-2000m above sea level, the  trails remain in extraordinary condition well into March.

After a lazy breakfast, we depart for Milan, where we say arrivederci.
